Aryn Mundy Springfield Ohio Death :It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Aryn Mitchell Mundy, lovingly known by many as “A Money,” who tragically lost his life on the afternoon of April 9, 2025, in a two-vehicle crash. Aryn was just 36 years old. His death is a devastating loss to his family, his friends, and to the Springfield, Ohio community that he called home.
Born on November 20, 1988, in Springfield, Aryn was the son of Mitchell E. Mundy and Shana (Patterson) Mundy. Aryn was a son, a brother, a father, a partner, and a friend—and in each of those roles, he gave a piece of his heart to everyone lucky enough to know him. His passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully describe, but his spirit, laughter, and legacy will live on forever in the memories of those he touched.
Aryn grew up with a passion for working with his hands. From a young age, he loved taking things apart just to see how they worked. That innate curiosity and skill grew into a lifelong trade, as he worked side by side with his father in the family’s car detailing and window tinting business. He wasn’t afraid of hard work and took pride in doing things right. His touch could make an old car shine like new, and his craftsmanship left customers not just satisfied, but amazed.
Aryn wasn’t just talented—he was authentic, with a personality that could fill a room. Whether it was his quick wit, his one-liners, or the way he laughed with his whole chest, Aryn had a way of making people feel at ease. He had a stubborn streak, sure—anyone who knew him knew that—but it came from a place of passion. He believed in people, especially those close to him, and when he cared about you, he rooted for you hard—even if it didn’t always come out in words.
Those who knew Aryn best also knew his softer sides. He was a man who loved his family deeply and would drop everything for the ones he loved. He was a father first, and nothing brought him more pride than his children—Jackson Mitchell Mundy and Gracyn James Mundy. Whether it was teaching them something new, making them laugh, or just being there, he was a dad who cared—present, real, and full of love.
Aryn shared many special chapters of life with the women who helped raise their children together. His first wife, Christen Mundy, and his longtime partner, Erika Melillo, each shared beautiful memories and moments with Aryn that can never be erased. In both of these relationships, his dedication to his children and the families they built will be remembered with warmth and respect.
He is also survived by his loving mother, Shana Mundy, who was not only his mom but his biggest supporter, a constant in his life. The bond between Aryn and Shana was filled with loyalty and love—one that stood strong through life’s storms.
Aryn leaves behind his brother, Ryan Mundy, and sister-in-law, Makenna, who stood by his side through the good and the bad. His little niece Wrenley brought joy into his life, and he was excited to watch her grow. His extended family, countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends, will all miss his fiery spirit, his cooking, his jokes, and his generosity.
Aryn loved grilling for his family, often using any excuse to fire up the grill, gather everyone around, and share a meal. He was a lowrider bicycle enthusiast, and his eyes would light up when talking about the projects he was working on. Aryn lived with style, energy, and a deep desire to make life colorful and meaningful—even in small, everyday ways.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mitchell E. Mundy; paternal grandparents James E. and Mary Mundy; and maternal grandparents David and Marilyn Patterson. We take comfort in imagining Aryn reunited with his dad, laughing together again, watching over their family from above. In moments of grief, that vision brings a sense of peace and hope.
His friends remember him not only for the memories they made but also for the way he pushed them to be better. One friend said it best: “We had our disagreements in the past, but I just wanted what was best for your stubborn ass ‘cause you had so much potential without even trying.” That sentiment was shared by many. Aryn was like the little brother to more than just one person—he left a mark that went beyond blood.
This is not the goodbye we wanted. But in our hearts, we know Aryn is free now—free of the struggles he carried, the pain he hid behind that tough exterior, and the weight of the world that sometimes sat too heavy on his shou
A funeral service in Aryn’s honor will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.

Aryn, your light was one of a kind. You were flawed and fierce, but you were also full of love, talent, and laughter. We will miss your voice, your jokes, your hustle, and your heart. You mattered to us—more than you ever knew.
Fly high, brother. No more suffering. We’ll carry your memory in everything we do, and we’ll look for you in the sun, the songs, the smoke of the grill, and the laughter of your kids. Until we meet again—rest in peace.
